Is a single card 4870x2 faster than using two separate 4870 1gb cards? I wanted to go crossfire, either dual gpu or dual card but I want to know which is the better performance. Thanks for any help.

and cooling on the x2's is a chore... but if i was buying new I would probably go x2 so i could double up later ;p... but i'm settling for a second 4850 for $110 to fill up that lonely slot in my existing 4850 box...

If budget wasn't a concern the 295...at worst if SLI didn't scale it would be 90% as fast as the single 285.
