Hello all,

I've been running a 9800 Pro on a Samsung Syncmaster 172N as 1280x962 I beleive - native resolution. Games look great, but my actual desktop display (including text and icons) looks terrible in comparison to my older computer which is running a GeForce2. The text looks blurred and the icons just aren't as sharp and crisp in comparison. It drives me absolutely nuts - it's getting to the point where I want to change my video card. It is particularly obvious when I switch quickly between machines using my KVM switch. (I've tried removing the KVM - no dice.)

So, that being said, is there anything I can do beyond pulling the GeForce2 or getting a ti4200-4800? Could I have two cards in the machine - one for gaming, one for normal use? CAN'T STAND THE PAIN....

Maybe a new monitor? Omg hlp. :)

It's PCI. Can anyone help resolve this issue? Is it possible?

Try 1280 x 1024, you have Clear Type enabled, you're using the right connector???

That might be the resolution I have it on. I had Cleartype enabled but it just doesn't make a difference; there's this "bleeding" effect going on like when you write with a felt tip pen and immediately swipe your hand over it - ink blots all over.

I'm going to try switching the video cards tonight to see if it's the card, the monitor, or whatever.
