We currently brought up a second building at one of our locations and had help from our vendor in setting everything up, but I changed it after a while. We have a Cisco 6509 at the first location and initially they set it up so that both buildings were on the same VLAN, but I started running out of IPs so I split the second building into it's on VLAN for the data side. Everything is running back to the 6509 for L3 connectivity, but I'm wondering if that's the best way...
I just thought about this tonight and was wondering if I should turn on the L3 capability of the 3750 being used in the second building and use that instead of having all the traffic going out to the 6509 first for routing?
They're connected via fiber so I don't think it matters 'that' much, but I wasn't sure if it may help a little.

Oh, and all the switches are 3750 except for the core, which is the 6509.
Thanks.
