I've been having difficulty running two memory modules in my Asus P4B533-E with a Pentium 4 2.0A C1 @ 2.8GHz. Prime 95 will error out. One module is 512MB Samsung PC2700. The other a 256MB Micron PC2100 module. One alone in the P4B533-E will run at 186.66MHz or 373DDR with conservative timings of 2.5-3-3-7 all day long with no error in Prime 95. I've been thinking of getting another 512MB Samsung PC2700 module with exactly the same chips as the other. Would this combination of the two allow it to run stable at that speed?

This board has a known issue with running two sticks when oc'ing. Not to mention running two different types. :)

well from my experience, even running chips of similar brands and type, they tend to perform lower/slower together than being ran individually....happened with two sticks of samsung pc2700 i had:(

Yes, you're right. One stick is always better for performance, and in the case of this board, also in stability...:)

I have two 512MB Samsung PC2700 memory modules now for 1GB total. I'm running into the same problems I had before. The memory will run fine at 3:4 speeds with a single module. Adding two causes problems at that speed. The two will run fine at 1:1 memory speeds though at lowest RAM timings with a 140MHz bus. I bought the two for Granite Bay. I'm still waiting on that.

Like I said, that board doesn't like two sticks. Just use one till ya get your GB board...:)
