Two 19" NEC/MITSU CRTs on Newegg... what's the difference?

Besides about $50, I mean. :)

Seriously, the only thing that I see as different is the maximum resolution. If that's the case, I'm going with the cheaper one because I will never use such a high screen size.

Thoughts? Is there something bigger that I'm missing?

Here they are:

$249

$294

Dude there is a massive difference. The $50 more one is the 930sb. It's the best 19" monitor on the market. I have one. It has excellent quality, picture, clarity, brightness. It's a true trinitron (diamondtron is their version), a true flat screen, a true aperture grill and maintains a .24 dot pitch across the entire screen. It is a LOT better than the 991. Particulary if you are a gamer, this and the 22" version are the best gaming displays.

I don't understand your defense. The cheaper one has all of those things too. At least the description says so.

The dp930sb has a constant .24 dot pitch while the fe991 is .25 in the center and .27 at the edges. I tried both and kept the 930 because it is a little sharper (especially text) and that was worth the extra money to me. By the way, you can get them a little cheaper at Amazon (free shipping) and have a 30 day return period.

Oh, wow. I didn't realize that. Then yes, I'm definitely getting the 930. Thanks for the heads-up! RealityTime, I'm sorry I doubted you. :)

BTW, I saw the cheaper prices at Amazon, but it's out of stock. And I'm looking to buy a new one before Half-Life 2 comes out next week. I'll probably buy from Newegg today.

991: stock diamondtron tube- has slightly curved tube with flat plane of glass in front. (most so called flat screens are this). Has the stock 3 gun focus system. variable dp .25-.27.
930: Diamondtron natural flat tube: No fake flat screen here, truly flat tube. .24 dp, Mitsubishi U-NX 1 gun focus system- produces superior focus and sharpness.

I got my 930SB from TechonWeb for around $250, but it looks like they've stopped stocking them since.

Superbright literally makes a night to day difference in games. You have to see it to believe it.

I think that production has been cut off or something. Newegg doesn't stock it anymore either. Looks like I ordered just in time...
