Twitter Employee Undergoes Therapy Over Elon Musk Takeover

Y'know, I figured I'd give it a shot, and it managed to be stupider than I thought it might be. Seek help, OP.
Even the "I've lost my ability to even" gag is unoriginal.

Upon reflection what this gets wrong is it has none of the truth that makes comedy funny. The premise that Elon Musk actually is interested in free speech is false and everything else after it is a forced slurry of right wing memes. Elon Musk is interested in stroking his ego from a bully pulpit and it's up to everyone to stop watching the shallow little wanker.

It's more like the far left are worried that he may actually care about free speech. If it was 100% determined he is not, they would not be so riled up about this and it would be a non issue to them. They do not like the idea that people can freely express themselves without consequence, because it means that people are going to be allowed to have different opinions, and we can't have that!

You have become pretty full of shit lately lol

Why are conservatives so bad at comedy?

A key principle of political comedy is "it's funny because it's true". Conservatism is based mostly on BS / a rose-tinted view of the past that they wish to bring back. People who blind-side themselves with their own BS are easy targets for political comedy.

A good example is the OP and that video clip. The likes of Red Squirrel are convinced that Twitter is (or purports to be) "a free speech platform". I could understand it if Red Squirrel was a pre-teen who seriously tries to convince people that there's something fishy about capitalism because how can Santa afford to give away all these presents in a world run by capitalism, but I'm pretty sure he's a mature adult. Conservative humour is often like that pre-teen who has fundamentally misunderstood the topic and is attempting a snarky take-down.

The people who fear free speech the most are the people with power and influence, such as billionaires. The whole point of freedom of speech is to allow people to tell the truth against people with power. When the people don't have this freedom, their potential for the masses to rise up with the pitch forks is severely limited. Communication is the greatest driver of change in society. Billionaires naturally prefer the environment that allowed them to accumulate their wealth, so therefore they would wish to conserve that environment.

If Elon was truly interested in free speech he probably wouldn't be as anti-union and anti-journalism as he is. He's a shallow rich kid who bought his way into a company at the right time and is just smart enough to fool a bunch of people that his cosplay of Tony Stark is genuine. And btw there are consequences of freely expressing stupid shit whether it's just people laughing at you or if it's dangerously stupid, being called out for being dangerously stupid.

First we know there is no free speech in the US and words do have consequences. I for one do not want ISIS beheading videos on twitter but you do and you want it without consequences, why?

I have been contemplating this question a lot lately.

I think you are right, there has to be truth or even a half truth to be funny, we have seen Presidents roast themselves and it was funny in the past at that catholic fundraiser that Bush and Gore went to because they play off truths, perceived truths, or even stereotypes. When you comedy is based off Q Anon conspiracies it is not funny.

It seems that some people are indeed a little delusional about their own self-righteous. Those are the people not laughing at this video.

In actuality, the mechanism is not tied to being religious or being leftist, those just the two flavors of human self-delusion most prominent in the States because there is value to be religiously passionate for a cause even if a cause is organized religion. Activism is a dopamine rush and so enforcing morality.

I hold contempt for lawyers...but everytime non-lawyers try to rule...I prefer lawyers...

Please could you try to explain your opinion a bit more thoroughly / coherently?

I'm on a forum where BabylonBee material gets posted with regularity, and it's consistently unfunny. There's been a couple that had good source material to work with, but they fucked it up with the presentation. I trend to conservative/libertarian(NOT fuckin' Trumptard!), so it isn't a negative preconceived bias. Their stuff just sucks. Nice logo though. It would work well for an artisan soap company or something :^D

You know fuck all about fuck all.

Don't forget about the guy who criticized his solution to rescue the kids trapped in a cave and Musk tried to smear that guy for exercising his free speech, which dared criticize the great Elon himself.

As is typical of right wingers, the OP is devoid of critical thinking ability and idolizes hypocrites.
