Twitter account created in Saudi Arabia

I recently realized that an email address of mine had been used to create a twitter account in 2013. The name is in Arabic and the newsfeed I received was all articles (in English) on the Russian aircraft that went down in Egypt. I searched the account details and discovered that the IP address used to create account was located in Saudi Arabia. All of the followers were also Arabic names.

I deactivated the account and changed all the names and things but I am wondering what other precautions I should do based on hacking concerns. Any advice appreciated.

I don't understand how this can happen? Doesn't Twitter confirm your E-mail once you register with that E-mail address?

had someone in tehran try to break into my google account and someone in pakistan used my email to start a twitter account.

damn mid-easterners!
