Funny thing is it's been like that for a long time on the website. It's just them keep changing the wording on flyer over and over, lol.

It looks like this means a couple of the H61 board are free (or below $0 after rebate) with the purchase of an [EDIT] i3-3225. That's a hot deal.

been like that for 3 weeks

Really? The last flyers/cats from MC I've been getting prior to this one has the cpu/mb markdown limited to Z77 chipset motherboards, unlike this current combo setup.

Musta missed the expanded offering somewhere.....would appreciate you giving me the link to when it changed 3 weeks ago. Thx.

Actually.. it's not even 3 weeks.. I got 2700k + Z68 bundle deal on 9/17. At that time, I tried bunch of other mobo combinations, and somehow all worked as long as CPU is 2700K, 3225, 3570K or 3770k.

It's just how MC prints on their flyer, but their website has been working like this for a while. Probably B&M store may follow the deal printed on flyer, but as long as you place an order online, pretty much you could get the same deal for a while.

With that being said.. you still get the bundle discount with 2700k (+ any mobo, not just Z77) as well, which is not advertised on their flyer. You see the point?

Yes, dearie, I see the point. I also know that since what you can put into your cart shows one thing, it's up to the local MC to honor the unadvertised prices. I've already heard that a 2700k/AsRock H77 mITX combo, one that adjusts the price for a $50 off the mb, was refused at the NOVA MC, the one in Fairfax.

And from the 6 MC's I've shopped over the last decade and a half, the 2 in ATL, the NOVA store, the one in Rockville, MD that just opened in the last year, one in Paterson, NJ, and the one in Cambridge, MA (Boston), there are varying levels of CS to be found.

I asked when I was last in the MC in Boston, and twice was told that honoring any combo that wasn't directly listed in their flyer would be up to the manager, despite what the online cart did.

So, YMMV.......

Yup, I completely agree CS level is here and there for MC. Being them fairly small company, despite being nationwide, I can understand that. That's why I suggest order it online for pickup since bundle pricing is for pickup only anyway. That way you lock the price in.

So, if it works in the cart, it sells, eh? Even if it follows none of their combo conventions, such as being a compatible mb with the cpu......

Then, you can buy this combo that I managed to get a $50 discount on the mb with a cpu that won't fit:

LOL, good luck on buying that. But seriously, I just wanted to show MC's online cart is fubar'd badly and not everything you can get to work in the cart will be sold to you in the store. Exhibit #1 above, for instance.

Yup. I remember back when Athlon II 250 got a bundled price on their site with free motherboard, but it wasn't advertised. Everyone who got that deal had to order online for in-store pickup.

I got that deal in-store in Cambridge.
