My klettersack bit the dust today after twenty years; a strap ripped out of the bottom. Wilderness Experience is no more so the lifetime warranty doesn't help. Doe anyone know of a brand that makes leather-bottomed cordura klettersack style backpacks? I carry lots of heavy stuff like tools and rocks so I need the leather bottom.

To be more helpful maybe a shoe/leather repair place could fix it?

I have a REI brand klettersack with a letter bottom that has given me over ten years of service.

My klettersack...

I had to google that word, and this is what I found. BAHAHAHA.

It does have a leather bottom.

I blame the hydration system/laptop slot fad for the death of the useful backpack. I don't want to drink out of a condom, dang it. I like water bottles. And I don't want to carry my laptop to the mountain top.

hi ironwing,
where did you get that great backpack? that's just what i'm looking for! i'm an archaeologist and carry all kinds of crap around with me and my mec klettersack is rapidly giving up the ghost after about 12 years of hard labour... so i need to replace it and that one looks fantastic!
if you don't mind please tell me where you got it or what make it is.
thanks!
