Specs:
Asus K8n-e deluxe
3400+
1 gig ocz
SATA raptor
x800 pro

Hi, so I ran TweakXP 3. It completely raped my computer when I clicked "ATI video card" and "tweak it!" Now my audio doesn't work, two fake entities are installed on my sound device menu that keep magically reinstalling themselves, my brightness is way too high, and I cannot seem to revert back to any settings. I've tried using regcleanre to delete all ATI dll's, no luck. Tried reinstalling vid drivers, nforces, directX, nothing. Tried safe mode. Tried normal mode. Tried looking in TweakXP for help. Nothing. Raped. I would throw in the towel and reformat, but I have misplaced my XP disc.

Should I install the newest tweak xp and click "tweak it" for a radeon x800 (if such a thing is on the menu)
or does anyone know a better fix? (Edit: I have tried tweakxp 4, it does absolutely nothing to help me. disregard this part).

Please help me, for the love of god I am going insane and I am about to hurt somebody.

I hate this stupid program and I wish I could go back in time and save myself this dumb headache.

pic of the fake, dumb, wrong things that it keeps adding that are OVERWRITING MY REAL AUDIO. The first two things are wrong and just got added. If deleted, they re-add. Nothing I've tried so far has done a god damn thing to them.

the message I get when I try to run audio programs.

I also get an error message when attempting to reinstall my old backup registry. NEAT!

FUN.

FUN.

FUN.

this tweak3d crap has literally raped my computer into believing my x800 is an all-in-wonder

I'm about ready to reformat here. I cannot delete these stupid Tweak3d Dll's. They are undeletable from my registry. They keep respawning the fake audio thing that keeps overriding my REAL audio thing. How can I fix this?

Try a repair install, otherwise a full format and re-install may be the only thing you can do.

I'm not sure you want to be admitting to that on here.

Why not? It's a burned copy of an XP Pro Corporate edition. It's a corporate liscence owned by my school that my tuition entitles me a copy of. You're allowed to go get a burned copy and a key because the school paid microsoft for it.

Does anyone have a way to fix this?

My crystal ball shows.....a format in your future.

Does your school offer severe discounts for MS products? I bought WinXP Pro for $6.

Nice performance tuning there.

Haven't you - or the tweak software itself - made a registry backup before you have started to temper with the settings? May have escaped your attention. Any tewaker software should be able to do that.

Edit: even if you have uninstalled the tewaker the backup may be there on your hdd

First of all, the first shot shows the Rage Theater WDM drivers for your ATI video cards VIVO features (Video In video out)not some "fake" audio drivers.

What audio card are you using? I see the realtek codec, have you tried installing the motherboard drivers (if its on board) or your sound card drivers?

Reformat and call it a day. By the time you figured your problem a clean install will fix all your problems. I wouldn't blame the software.

I would blame the software because the second I ran the stupid tweak it instantly broke my computer.

Those WDM rage crap things were never there before and magically they show up and break my audio.

I'm going to reformat, unless anyone else can think of anything magical to fix this.

Also, as i stated earlier I literally cannot re-import my old registry. It says not allowed, keys in use. I cannot find a selective startup option to see what's using those keys, so I can't reinstall my old registry.

"I also get an error message when attempting to reinstall my old backup registry. NEAT!"

Yes, I do have a copy of the registry before the computer is broken.

It'd be nice if it worked like that, you paid $6 for the disc, your schools technology fee that they charge you every semester paid for that copy of XP.

Anyway, are you going into safe mode and trying to delete the dlls from there, usually you can delete any non system dlls or files in safe mode.

I tried safe mode, they still re-install...Well, it's been fun, folks. Thank you all for your admirable efforts. I finally found my XP pro corp disc and I am now moving all my files to my second hard drive. Here comes the big one.

Ciao for now. Admins, you can lock this if you so please.

Admins never lock threads. Not unless I ruin them first. ;)

Actually I installed an unofficial service pack for Win98SE once and the damm B1thc! changed my desktop and other things I didn't like. And top of that, it FREAKIN' locked me out of my own BIOS man! It enabled the darn supervisor password. Well, I learned how to clear CMOS for the first time.
