Hey All:
I recently tried to upgrad tweakui to tweakui 1.33 on a computer running Win98, but it doesn't change. I know the earlier version has the tabs that scroll left and right and when you upgrade, the tabs have three rows that can be seen at the same time. This is what has happened on all the other machines I have put this new version on except one. I have tried uninstalling, rebooting and reinstalling, but no dice. I have even restored the default registry settings to see if this helps, then followed the above proceedure, still no dice. Is there a registry setting that controls this I need to change or something? Thanks for any help.

Delete tweakui.cpl from the Windows\System directory, then reinstall TweakUI.

Thanks for the suggestion, but when I tried that it didn't change anything. I even copied the file from another computer but get the same results. I then uninstalled tweakui, searched the hard drive deleting all tweak*.* files I found, searched the registry deleting all references to twaekui, then restarted. Upon reinstall, I still get the same. The only thing I can think of is that tweakui is detecting this as a different version if windows than it is and is installing the wrong version of tweakui. Any other suggestions or does anyone know what file tweakui uses to discover the version of windows?

This computer was to be a base image for three different setups, so we had not installed the video card drivers. Once I had created the image, I started installing the specific drivers for this machine. As soon as I installed the drivers, the default desktop setting went to 800x600 with 16 bit color. I checked tweakui and it was the three tiered tab style that differentiates tweakui 1.33 from previous versions. All is well in the world now. Thanks for your help.
