I've been using it without problems on my systems but my girlfriend has the same problem you reported with her laptop.

Here's a bump for some suggestions.

I have the same problem with my personal machine... It will work several times and then stop working. My son's machine on the other hand does not have the same problem. Go figure....Windows... If anyone has a solution to this problem, I would definitely like to hear it...

Same problem here. One suggestion I have noticed is not to have the AutoLogon option selected if you have more than one program that does this. For example: A program called TweakAll has this option and I have it installed on my computer as well as TweakUI. I have noticed that if I have the AutoLogon option enabled in both programs, then it does not want to seem to work. So I have the AutoLogon turned off in TweakALL and enabled in TweakUI.

I know that System Mechanic has this option, but it only works for W2K.

Everybody who's having this problem should check the Paranoia tab in TweakUI. Make sure that you UNcheck the "Clear Last User at logon" item, then apply that. Now that autologon is allowed to remember who the last user was, it will be able to supply the password and log you on.

There are other possibilities, but this is the one that seems to bite the most people in the butt.

Jim

The tweakui method is new to me. I've always gotten rid of it by deleting client for microsoft networks ( or something like that) in the network icon in the control panel. It gives an error once after that then no more.

Assuming you are using Win98 or ME, in your network settings - in the primary network logon drop down menu select Windows Logon and restart when prompted.
You will no longer be prompted to log on.
