According to the article, the RTG team "don't know where they're going forward". This reinforces my belief that all the people who really understood GCN were let go in the cost cutting of 2013, and it's basically alien technology to the current Chinese team. Say goodbye to any hope of breaking the 4-triangle-per-clock barrier; obviously no one on their staff has a clue how to do that.
Looks like we'll have to wait for "Next-Gen" in 2020-2021 before AMD has any chance to have a competitive product again.
