Orb is a must install. It's basically like Air Video for iOS but with more functionality. While Air Video limits you to videos, this will stream your music, pictures, webcam, and even live videos from your capture card. And it's free.

All movies, music, and pictures on my computer is now available anytime on the Touchpad. 😎

Flash web videos, Hulu, Amazon Prime videos, ability to stream my entire media collection. This is the ultimate media tablet.

Is there any way to change the cache status on the browser? It seems the have problems particularly with login pages and such.

There does not appear to be a fix. I'm hoping homebrew comes up with something. A lot of precentral seems to be rationalizing away flaws though. 😀

A little help for people that try to help but get out of steam. 😛

Still missing that killer app though. That app being ANY sort of RDP app. (Not VNC, I mean RDP)

I think that the only remote that works from the TouchPad is using TeamViewer Web Connector through the Browser.

I heard that Splashtop is being made for the Touchpad, not sure if that's the sort of app you are looking for though. It's also been a month since that was posted and no other news about it.

there is a preware patch to make Hulu work. need to add the testing feeds to get it, works fine for me. Had to clear the browser of cookies etc then reboot before it worked.

Installed preware and OC'ed it installed the various patches, stopped all the logging etc: this thing really flys. I just installed NFS Hot Pursut and is is really good on this thing. Even at $ 9.99 I think is a good deal, who needs Angry Birds.

I was planning on putting this TP away and waiting for a Android port for it, but I'm having way too much fun with it.

Given the recent demise of the Touch Pad you probably will Not see many of the "Promised" new applications ever making it to market.

Some developers that produce the same applications for other platforms and the app is almost done might be "nice" and release something, others are not going to waste their time on EOL hardware.

Summary (after registering w/ WebOS):

1) Update to the latest FW
2) Minimize Logging by Dialing ##LOGS# (##5647#) in Phone App
3) Enable Developer Mode by searching 'webos20090606' in Just Type
4) Install PreWare by using "WebOSQuickInstall v4.2.3.jar"

From PreWare:
1. Download/Install "Muffle System Logging"
2. Download/Install "Remove Dropped Packet Logging"
3. Downlaod/Install "Increase Touch Sensitivity and Smoothness 10"

To Overclock (it's ok, the CPU was originally designed as 1.5ghz, they just downclocked it to 1.2ghz):
1. Downloading/Installing Govnah
2. Downloading/Installing the UberKernel
3. Use Govnah to overclock to 1.5ghz
4. ???
5. Profit!

Piece of cake...

Except you should install Warthog kernel and OC to 1.7GHz. 🙂

Mine just screams in WebOS, very responsive. I simply wish there were more/better apps. At this speed, with tweaks, if it had a better app store it would be a truly brilliant device.

Quick question... is it possible to connect your TP to a desktop (in this case, Windows 7 via USB), and then share the desktop's internet connection with the TP?

Via Bluetooth. I believe the Touchpad supports the Bluetooth PAN profile.
