Tweaking Internet Connection

I ran a program from Pc Pitstop called "Internet Speed" which claimed to edit some pretty convincing registry values to tweak my internet connection. Is this a waste of time / money? What other methods have worked for you?

Thanks!

There is no magical way to uncap your modem. If you can download a large file and max out what your ISP says they're giving you, then your line is already at peak. If not, you might want to check out speedguide's TCP optimizer to do a few of those registry tweaks for free.
