Hi ,

I bought a New motherboard ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe and 2 x 1GB OCZ 240DIMM PC2-6400 DDR2 Gold OCZ Dual Channel Kit .

Does anyone know that basic settings to tweak to run the CPU at peak performance ?

Im used to AMD 64 Socket 939 , the CPU alaong with the RAM thers like total 50 settings to tweak if you want to with this motherboard .

Any Basics on AM2 CPU,s or DDR2 RAMoverclocking Tweaking ?

I don't know your board's BIOS, but with DDR2 things change a little bit versus s939. The main thing to keep in mind is that you will never even need to think about running your memory slower than your HTT, and if your memory does well enough, it may run at speeds significantly faster than your HTT. The trick, however, is never to worry about bandwidth and instead to focus solely on latency.

In my experience, the best thing to do is to find the right combination of speed and tight timings to reduce your latency as measured in cycles at your maximum desired processor speed. The latency.exe tool that comes with cpu-z helps measure that. The other thing to keep in mind is that, sometimes, raw DDR2 speed is what the AM2 processors like the most, which is a change from how s939 procs behaved.

I updated to the very latest BIOS Just last night .

Ive read this board has the MOST memory tweaking options of ANY motherboard on the market just now .

I just want to change the Basics 800MHz Specified Settings of 4-5-5-15 vDimm 1.95v to 2.1vDimm .

Im running a AMD X2 4800+ @ 2.5GHz @ about 30 Celcius just now , ive heard these CPUs can run up to 2.8-2.9GHz .

But the system will run 24/7 so i dont want to overclock it too much, in case it dies before its time .

[ P.S. The 1 thing i KEEP forgetting is the TLC - TRCD - TRP - TRAS - TRC - TRWD - 1/2 Memory Timing ]

What are these settings to the 4 - 5 - 5 - 15 ?

My System Runs at 1T no bother my S939 NEVER Ran at 1T ALWAYS 2T .
