Tweakboys mobo exploded and here is what I did.

ASUS P5K 1201 BIOS.

Soo about 2 weeks ago I was just on my desktop and it frooze with a noise, thereafter the computer would turn on in every way but nothing on the screen no beeps nothing.


We tried a brand new video card on it and it still wouldn't work. So then I checked the RAM and they were all good. Then we bought a new PSU and tried that,, still nothing, you turn it on all fans spin and you get nothing. Then we tried a different CPU on it and same thing. You turn it on it turns on and nothing happens no beeps no nothing,

After the CPU didn't work then we knew it was the motherboard. I dismantled my whole comp drained the water. took apart everything.

Mobo came fast. I ordered on amazon but this newegg big box came it was just the mobo used of course. Then we needed a HSF, and I wasn't going water. But at Fry's I saw Thermaltake Water 2.0 Sealed No need to ever change coolant ..... got that used one for 66 dollars instead of 100 dollars brand new. Put everything together, and baam comp turns on and everything works.

Now I have diff problem. I cant overclock cuz my 12v rails are apparently 12.040 when it should be 12.1v then you OC and it goes to 12.096 I think the PSU killed the mobo cuz the voltage had dropped to 11 frooze sound gone! If anyone has similar this thread can help you hopefully. In the BIOS the 12v was always 12.1xx now its 12.040 when you OC it drops below 12 and thats what did it. So no OCing for me anymore, haha Im riding on 2.4Ghz.

Then I have another problem. My SSD is drunk. Things are slow now launching has a hesitation , soo I did some stuff rebooted and now it was fast instant. But now its slow again as of now.
I guess TRIM will fix this I hope. My HD launched faster then this shiz. ok fellas thank you and God Bless!

Your right but well, I guess it wasnt upgrading time yet even tho Ive been on it since nov 2007.

Part of the reason why I put another P5K is cuz I dont wanna format or clean install. I would have to start over and I have too much audio stuff in my DAW .......

I also learned a windows image backup is no good if you change mobos :thumbsdown:

Your 12v Rail is perfectly fine if its readin 12.096-12.1 Volts
now if it dropped down to 11v flat, you might have a problem.
within 5% on the 12v Rail is perfectly fine. (11.4v'ish)

Exactly. The spec for +12V range is 12.6V-11.4V (+/-5%).

Doubt his ps running at 11.9V is causing any problem at all. It's just Twinkboy.

It used to be 12.1xx in BIOS. Now its 12.040 .but after you OC the 12.1 goes to 12.096 . its stuck on 12.040 so you OC and it falls below 12 and doesnt like it hmmmmmmmm,,,,,, I did the pencil volt mod as well. worked like charm.

It's not that hard to swap intel motherboards and keep the system intact.

and I come out even almost,, Im selling P500 pump and TMG2 Dual Rad 1300rpm. Im taking pics now to put on ebay.
That is all I can salvage. Threw stupid reservoir away and I have the block but I doubt it will sell.

Now wtf about my SSD. It wont launch things fast. It has a delay ,,,,, then suddenly this problem went away but is back,,, my HD launched faster then this.

I wonder if it has to do with changing Mobo's alto its same model mobo.... hmmmmmmm


Can TRIM go to work and give me my speed back. BTW Crystal shows everything ok and I get 260mbps what I should get. but launching of apps and stuff has this delay when you click the mouse its slow. Boot up is fast tho.

So if it isn't the PSU not letting me OC. then wtf,, I got 3.7Ghz with my CPU now I can't even do 3Ghz weird.....

good thing is I fixed the vdrop. I did the pencil volt mod and voltage stays , what it is in bios its same in windows .. fixed.....

Actually I just defragged my 3 hard drives. SSD is highlighted out! duh...

App called Smart Defrag ,, does all 3 at same time. SSD is highlighted out of course.

Once OS detects SSD it turns off readyboost and readyboot and defrag.

Does TRIM take time to kick in or do what it has to do. ? This is annoying. I used to touch icons and they would launch immediately now there is a delay then it does its thing. Adobe loads in about 2 and half seconds. boot up is fast 20sec..

however launching of stuff has slowed down.. sighs.... Im not gonna touch anything. Let me see if TRIM will do its thing.

Yes I did a pencil volt mod colored in transister it says to do. then vdrop stops. you get same in bios or in windows. no vdrop.

Ive had it like that for years its not that relax..

OK PROBLEM FIXED. It was stupid SaS64core.exe I disabled in services now everything launches instantly .... close thread.

I don't like vdrop. Now I dont get vdrop with the pencil volt mod.

Whatever it says in bios, it says same in windows.

SuperAntiSpyware Free it puts that SaS64core on startup but I disabled it dont need real time.


Oh no, the SSD is laggin again. Like its fast,, as I said before,, just some stuff I do its not instant like it used to be. There is a delay on launch ,, sux,

plus 2.4Ghz :thumbsdown: Oh my it took soo long to defrag my registry, At 3.7Ghz it took half the time almost.

He claims that it was fast before he changed motherboard and such change does not affect alignment.

If there had been real explosion, its ripple effects could explain something.

:thumbsup: Ok now everything is good. I click on mouse and boom things pop open.

Soo I guesss TRIM fixed it. It was annoying, but all is good now.



The only problem now is I cant OC cuz HWmonitor shows 11.99 without a OC with one it goes down. I used to be 12.1xx and 12.096 in windows OCed. Doesn't let me OC. Im stuck on 2.4Ghz lol
