what can i do? i saw ATI is going to produce a TV WONDER USB 2.0 product but i didnt see any realse date nor any availability anyware.

so? can sombody shade some light on my situation anyhow? doea sombody knows when will the TV WONDER USB 2.0 will be sold or has another proposol as how to combine a good AGP card with good PVR solution?

It will be available this summer (probably late summer seeing how HDTV Wonder was supposed to come out this spring) in North America, which would apparently leave you out since AIW 9800SE is a PAL card. The other cards in the TV Wonder line aren't really worth looking at IMHO compared to what else is out there.

Sapphire produces a PAL AIW card IIRC, and you could look at something like Personal Cinema based on the 5700. For PVR a hardware card like Hauppage PVR 250/350 with the right software is a decent solution, or a tuner card from Leadtek or Asus maybe. You might look at a DTV card if they broadcast digital in your area.

first - 10x for your replay...

are you shure the TV WONDER USB 2.0 wont support PAL? if i intend to get the signal from a digital reciver (seatelite reciver) i guess i dont need the PAL/NTSC support and wont be an issue - right?

my plan is to get the refund, buy a X800PRO card and when the TV WONDER USB 2.0 will be availabe add it as a PVR solution cuz i was very happy with the AIW solution and i guess the TV WONDER USB 2.0 will give me the same option - right?

im really not intrestad in geting a 5700 based solution cuz it will be a real downgrade from my current 9800PRO and since i play a lot and are alredy used to play in a high resolutions ans high AA/AF the 5700 wont be good enough.

ill check into this SAPHIRE option - but usnt it better to get an X800PRO and couple it with the TV WONDER USB 2.0? this way next time ill need an upgrade - i can only replace the VGA card and the PVR solution can stay the same...

btw - i think CLUB3D also has a 9800PRO AIW card.

It will probably support PAL and NTSC using s-video or composite, but the initial models will be for North American market with NTSC tuners, the PAL tuner models will likely come later. The PAL AIW version are several months behind the North American version typically.

If you are going that route...look at a DTV tuner card if you want the TV on your PC, otherwise you'll be converting the digital stream to analog to capture it...and lose the benefit of the digital signal.

Since it'll be the first TV Wonder card with the same VIVO chip as AIW...it very well may(should). Its definately an interesting product I'm looking forward to.

In this case, I would agree (unless the new AIW cards offer some new functionality). The x800pro cards I've seen all have native YPbPr output support, and the TV Wonder USB looks to have maybe the same feature set as the current AIW....perfect combination.

I think you're right, and I also think ATI makes all AIW cards anyway, so they should be all basically the same card.

to some it up - the only way to know anyrhing is to wait for the realse of the TV WONDER USB 2.0...
shame - cuz my card is dead right now and not "somwehre this summer"

ill guess ill take the X800PRO and see what will come in the next 2-3 months.

btw -DTV tuner? which ati product include this tuner? sorry if i missled yuo - but i dont really need a tuner cuz my local "cable" supllier (or in my case satelaite supplier) allredy gives a deacoder and i can hook into it through the SVIDEO option in the PVR cards.

i have a device similar to this:
