TV video imput questions

I just bought a Sony 34" HDTV widescreen. One of the video imputs is DVI. In the onwers manual it states that it is compliant with the EIA 861 standard and is not intended for use with PC's.

My question is even though it is not intended to use with a PC will it work? If not what would be the best way to hook up the VC to the HDTV? I'm using a AIW 8500DV card.
