Why won't you buy ATI? I use their PCI TV wonder VE, stand alone cheapo tuner card I put in my secondary computer. Works great. I don't plug any game consoles in though....is that even possible? Even if it was the max resolution you can get is 640x480 no matter what monitor you're on.

First off, ATI has great flawless drivers for the ATI TV WOnder and ATI Radeon cards.

As for the 640x480 limit, it's because of the TV cable signal. All standard TV's (except HDTV or something simliar) are limited to 640x480 as well. If you ahve a digital tuner, i think you can hit higher resolutiosn (ATI Radeon 8500 DV anyone?) and there, you pay for the cost.

I have the ATI TV Wonder VE PCI edition. The drivers are a pain in the arse to set up in Windows 2000, but once you've got them working, it's great.

TV on a computer isn't going to look great, simply because a TV signal is very inferior compared to what your computer monitor is capable of displaying.
