I am looking for a good tvtuner card with inputs so that i can play my consoles on my moniter (need the red/yellow/white inputs). Anyone know a card that has this? I dont really care about the card acting like tivo to record shows and pause live tv stuff, my hdd isnt big enough for that. I only want to watch tv, record an occasional show, and play my consoles on my moniter.

thanks

Any TV card with the "Yellow" video in should work. Then, go down to a the shack and get a cable that will convert the Red and White RCA sound connection to a 1/8" male stereo jack. That can be used in conjunction with the line-in of your sound card. Depending on your sound card, you may also want to get a stereo headphone Y connector. That way, you can hook up both the TV card sound out and the Gaming sound out into your sound card without having to switch the cables all the time.

Right. Sound will not go to the TV card, that goes straight into your computer's sound card or onboard sound, into the Line-In jack to be exact.

Any TV card will give you at least a Composite Video input, the better ones have an SVideo input too.

I'm playing my consoles through such a PCI TV card all the time, works a treat. As with TV viewing itself, don't be disappointed about how low resolution the image actually is. On the usual blurry lowres TV tubes, no one notices, but on a good sharp computer monitor, it's rather obvious.
