Since i posted my question on the two DVD drives, I also wanted some opinions on TV Tuner cards.

Basically I want to get something that can do TIVO style stuff, record, edit.
I will probably burn some stuff to DVD.

The Hauppage line has been pretty good for me. Do you want HDTV(beware you can only fit about 15 minutes per gigabyte, which means about an hour of video per DVD)?

ahhh, that's the one I picked up a few months ago for $34. Seems to work fine for me. Why do you say it's the worst? Thanks.

The Hauppauge WinTV Theatre Card does NOT play well with Windows XP. Well for me at least. Everytime I used the "WinTV" program for a few minutes, Windows XP would hang every time I tried to shut it down.

I didn't have that problem using the ATI software with an ATI TV Wonder VE. As far as I could tell, the picture quality for both cards was the same.

Can you still pick up regular signals with an HDTV Tuner?? Also you can probably record at a lower quality to save space right?
