TV tuner problems

Yesterday, I had a coax cable running from my comp to the living room. I just found my TV Tuner and installed it back into my comp. The cable wasn't sticking out or anything, just lying on the floor. But somehow my mom trips on it and it pulls out my tv tuner from the pci slot! It was screwed in too!

NOW... I have a weird a problem. But it MIGHT not be related to this incident. I still get reception (I can watch TV). But now, when I plug the coax cable into both the comp and the living room (I'm leaving it disconnected usually these days), my computer runs slow. HOWEVER, it only seems to be anything internet related (aim, internet explorer). They slow to a crawl and if I try opening anything they crash. I don't even have to turn on the TV and everything goes slow. Only connecting the coax cable does. Winamp, however, works fine. But, as soon as I disconnect the coax cable everything works fine after I restart.

I'm going to try reformatting. Is it likely that the tripping incident damaged either the tv tuner or the mobo? I'm scared :frown:. I could use that TV Tuner for college...

Yes! Often the coax connectors on tuner cards can be popped on/off. Try pushing the connector in and see if its loose.
