I ask this because I thought that most monitors with and HDMI input can just display the picture from an HDMI source such as a digital cable box etc.
That being the case, what does a TV Tuner do exactly? Is there some sort of magic it does that allows me to watch HD programming without a box and if not then wtf is the point of it? Does it basically function as an equivalent to getting normal air broadcasts?
