I am planning to set up my HTPC soon and I plan to buy a TV-tuner card. I've read some reviews and one thing i noticed was an issue using a TV tuner card if you are using digital cable (set-top box). from what i've read, you must use the set-top box when changing channels (making recording a hassle). Is this true? what happens if i connect the cable to the RF in of the TV tuner? will I still get all my digital cable channels? The TV tuner cards have "cable ready" 125 channels but the digital cable on my set top box has channels up to 999. how will this work?
