I currently have a cable modem and along with a splitter I also want to watch tv on my monitor.

Can this be accomplished with a simple tv tuner (pci card or USB)?

If this is possible does anybody have recommendations for any such items for about $50 to $75? Thanks.
 
There are many such cards to choose from, such as here.

I helped a neighbor install the $49 avertv card and it worked quite well.
