TV Tuner Card

I am interested in buying a tuner card to install so that I can view TV through my computer. I am happy with my current video card (6600GT), so I am not looking to upgrade the video card. That is why I am looking at a TV tuner card. I am not interested in recording any TV programs or doing any video editing etc. All I am interested in is being able to view TV on the computer. The feed would be from a coax cable. My monitor is a Samsung 19" LCD with DVI. I am interested in getting a clean sharp picture from the TV tuner card. I have a fried who has a tuner card in his computer. His picture looks pretty sharp in a small window, but it gets fuzzy when he expands the TV window.

What are your suggestions?

IMHO, the picture of a analog NTSC/PAL signal will always look fuzzy on a high res PC screen when you expand it to or near fullscreen due to the low resolution of it.

Thats the consequence of watching standard def television on a nice computer monitor. If you think it looked bad on his monitor, you should see what SD TV looks like on a really nice high rez LCD.

Anyways, there are a bazillion threads about tv tuners if you did some searching. Sounds like a cheap Kworld or similar tuner card for $30-40 would be just fine for you.

Personally I would go search the Forsale forums and find one in there cheaply.

How much do you want to spend?

If you watch HDTV.. The resolution on a TV is only 640 x 480 I believe. You know what happens when something is stretched out..
