TV Tuner Card questions

Hey guys, I have a couple basic question that need some clarification.

I would like to setup Windows Media Center with Vistax64 on my new box. I'd then like to use my XBOX 360 in my living room as my Media Center Extender... no problems there, right?

I really have little clue on the latest terminology of tuners (ASTS, Clean QAM, etc), and what I really need.

I want to be able to record two shows at a time, or watch one, record one like my current Time Warner DVR. (Hoping to ditch Time Warner Digital, and just get basic cable).

The M780 seems to be a real popular hybrid/dual turner card that card. Will I be able to record two shows at once with this card?

I've done a lot of reading, but it's really not clear to me. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, you can get dual recording going, but if you want to watch Clear QAM you'll have to jump through a couple of minor hoops. Here's a (long) thread with the info you'll need: http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/thread/160819.aspx

I don't think I'd want Clear QAM right away. I'd be happy to start off with just dual recording of basic cable (non-HD). I've seen other cards need to have two cable lines plugged for two tuners and some need one.... so I guess I wont need to split it here...

What I'm really hoping to do is ditch my cable box, and just have basic cable. We only watch broadcast and ESPN/Discovery, etc anyway, but then we'd lose the DVR, so this looks like a good solution.

Any other gotchas with this card??
