:(

And today was supposed to be so perfect too. So I finally saved up some money to buy myself a TV for my apartment. (I was using a TV tuner before that). I picked up a relatively cheap 27" tv and took a walk to the TV stand aisle. I was hoping to find something that I could put my TV on and store my DVDs underneath. WTF??!! These TV stands are like... $100-$200. That's almost a 1/2 the cost of the TV I just bought.

I need a low budget solution. What do you guys use for TV stands? Either that or where can I buy something that functions well as a TV stand? I'm hoping for solutions that's a little more sophisticated than the "stacked cardboard boxes" solution I used in college.

Thanks!

Edit: Anyone think a small end table could work? hmm...

Go to IKEA?

$500?? But but... my TV cost $250. I could never understand where's my money going. To my untrained eye, all I see is some wood and glass. I would try IKEA but the nearest one is out of the state.

Uhhhh...

Target has some budget solutions. They don't look half bad, either.

I'd rather spend $500 on a TV and $50 on a stand (that nobody cares about anyway) than spend $1000 for both. But that's me.

Cinder blocks and wood

Try Goodwill and the Salvation Army. I was in Goodwill awhile ago and they had a brand new still in the box scratched Tv stand that was really really nice for $70. I almost bought it but then I remembered the ugly one I have holds the tv and thats all I really care about.

Even if they don't have that big end table work pretty well. Thats what I used for awhile.

You know, for that price you could probably just buy enough marble slabs to get to the approaite height and come out ahead, assuming your floor could take the weight.

wow, I have a love for america and everything and I would do anything to move there (which I hope to do in the long run), but erm, I'm going to have to remember to bring my own tv stands, I mean fvck, things cost like £20 at most here and most of the time you get one free with your TV when you buy it

Damn..

That should hold a 27" TV and then some.

It's soo... pretty..... *hugs you*
