TV sound connecting PC

CRV

Senior member
How do I get sound to come out from my TV, when connecting to a PC using a HDMI cable and without a GPU?

If you are in Win 7 or 8 try to go into control panel and go into sound and select the HDMI out as the audio source. You should be able to do HDMI out on the drivers for any modern iGPU.

I'm trying to run the PC without the graphics card. Not sure if my PC comes with an integrated one or not. The motherboard has an HDMI connector.

Everything works fine after I uninstalled the GPU, but I can't get any sound from my TV when connected to the PC using the HDMI from the motherboard. I couldn't find the HDMI option, but after reinstalling the GPU it works.

Found out the pc has Intel HD Graphics 4600. Somehow the High Definition Audio Device is not working. This is the status
This device cannot start. (Code 10)

I'm lost. Try a few things suggested, but it didn't work. I also went to the manufacturer's website and downloaded the latest audio driver. Plus I'd also try updating the driver manually, but it says Windows found the friver software for my device, but encountered an error while attempting to install it, then it gave me the same error code that I listed above.

This is a tough one without being there. Not having much luck finding exactly what motherboard is in this guy as well.

Have you checked the BIOS to see what the integrated hardware settings are like? Make sure you are allocating a decent amount of RAM to the onboard video.

Did you do any testing with the HDMI before you were moving parts?

Any Device Manager errors before the move?

If you have onboard sound with TOSLINK ya might give that a try.

I prefer it myself, I even bought an adapter to put my old Azuentech Prelude 7.1 in my all Pci-e MOBO just to run TOSLINK from it.
