TV Reviews & Power Consumption

Does any one else get frustrated with TV reviews that obsess over power consumption. I'm thinking about buying a ~46-50 inch LCD or plasma, and leaning toward the plasma because they seem like a better value. All the typical review sites (like CNET) seem to whine about how plasmas take way more power to run than an LCD. If I'm paying > $1000 for a TV then why the heck do I care if it takes another 100-200W to run??

Also it seems like people don't worry much about burn-in / image retention with plasmas these days. Should this be any concern for an HTPC / game console user?
