After an extremley disapointing investment in Tivo, I'm looking forard to setting up a computer (Athalon 750) as a subsitute - record, playback and archive to cd from cable. No video editing, though. I would also be extremley interested if anyone has gotten more than one PCI card (an AWI 128 for example) to record multiple chanels at one time. (D@mn networks 'competing')

I know a number of people who were also similarely browned off with Tivo / ReplayTV etc. and are interested in upgrading their computers with this in mind. I guess we're just looking for an effective, proven system, and the largley biased, misinformed, reviews present on assorted websites really didn't cover this subject in any depth at all.

To get right down to specifics - my 'Ideal Solution' would be 2 PCI tv tuner cards, a fm tuner card, and an AGP (Radeon probably) video for games (if possible). Possible? Anyone done anything close?

I'll try to summarize any good info, and post back with my results based on your feedback.
