My uncle and grandmother need a new tv...price does not matter as long as it's good. I'm thinking somewhere along the lines of ~40-50 inch plasma or DLP?

Looks that way. $13,000 is quite pricey but that should come down a lot in a few years.

I would say DLP but wait for the 1080P chips to come out. If they need a TV now, then go for either a great plasma (i.e. not cheap) or a DLP.
