TV/PC Joint Audio/Speakers???

I am currently looking at a widescreen HDTV for use as both a TV and a PC monitor. My delema is my sound setup. Im going to buy a reciever for TV sound, and I currently have an Audigy 2 for my PC, but is there a way I can have both Xbox/Cable and my PC use the same speakers so that I dont have to have 2 sets of speakers?

Sure, just run either three stereo minijack to rca cables from the audigy to the 6 channel in on the reciever, or just run a digital connection.

huh??

Out of the audigy, you can either run the analog outs, or a digital out. If you do analog, then theres 3 minijacks on the card, one for front L/R, one for back L/R, and one for center/sub. Get 3 minijack to rca jack adapter cables and run those six rca jacks into the multi-channel in on the reciever. OR run the digital 5.1 output out of the audigy to the reciever....i dont know exactly how the audigy handles the digital connections, i dont have one, you might have to buy a special cable or a daughter card if you dont have the breakout box.

do i need a special cable for digital audio from the audigy?

all you needis one cable. Its either a digital optical (with the black cover that you can take out) OR a digital coax cable (looks like a standard RCA cable) If you have both, don't worry, they do the SAME thing!! Cabe should be about 10-15 bucks.

Ok I have the same sound card and the same set up as you want so I can explain better.

Ok there is a couple ways to do this. The way I have it is on the front panel of my soundcard I hook up a coax cable(can get at radio shack for cheap) to the SPDIF OUT port. I then plug the other end of my coax cable into the coax IN port of my receiver. Turn your receiver to your Coax channel and your homefree.

You could also get a cable from that looks just like your speakers cables(instead of center, left, right, sub, you have one cable that plugs into the digital OUT)plug it into the digital OUT port and into your receiver.

If you have anymore question feel free to ask me.
