TV Passthru 5.1 to Optical?

I have a bluray running into a vizio e320-b0 32" with hdmi, then optical out (bitstream) to my 5.1 system. Does that tv output 5.1 through its optical out, theres no solid answer online.

Page 13 (page 19 of the pdf.) says that the optical out does support dolby digital and dts 5.1 output.

Page 13/14 only states the standards supported by the connector, usually as an input, but on page 26, it does show that optical output can be set to 'bitstream' in your menu. Very interesting. And by the way, RTfM... and try it yourself. Don't trust the internet.

Unless it's changed, most TV's don't do passthrough of surround formats, only from the internal tuner.
