TV-outs, are they interlaced or progressive?

They're all interlaced. The only mainstream progessive scan output is available using the component adapter from ATi for a few of their video cards. S-video and composite are not capable of transmitting a progressive image.

The ATI HDTV Component Video Adapter provides both progressive and interlaced formats: 480i, 480p, 720p and 1080i. Modes can be easily set with switches on the adapter or with the software provided on the installation CD. Two types are available: one for a DVI port, and another for the VGA port.

The ATI HDTV adapter works on 8500 through 9700 Pro video cards.

Nice! Too bad it takes up one of your monitor display outputs however... Dual display plus HDTV out would be nice, eh?
