I am using a GF2pro with tv-out to play mame on the television, and I have found the settings to make most everything large enough to be readable except for the text in MAME, and windows text in general. Anyone have any quick tips or know where to adjust the size of "window text" as labeled by the appearance tab in the display settings?

Text INSIDE the windows is drawn by the application. So if the application does not respond to Windows's generic font size settings, you're screwed.

styrafoam: as peter points out, usually there is no real cure for this. What I do with my mame box connected to a TV? I use VNC to remotely connect through my workstation and admin the computer that way.

As as for mame, get a frontend like mamewah that usees large text sizes for specifically that reason.

GL. :)

Would a largescreen HDTV do the trick? :D
TV pixels are considerably larger than those in even a lousy PC monitor, so they can't render fine details nearly as well.

HDTV signal has better bandwidth and higher resolution, but it's still a far cry from the bandwidth of your usual VGA signal. And TV tubes don't use an exactly fine dot pitch either.
