TV out PCI CARD

Hi Frustrateduser. Thanks for the information. One other quest regarding this same topic. I have been checking out other PCI TV Out items and found one that looks like, if it will work, is exactly what I need. I have a new Sony 32" HDTV with a DVI port and an "S" port. There is a Radeon 7000 PCI 32MB DDR w/TV out and DVI on the market. Can you give me any info on this one. Thanks Scapporelli

No I can't really provide any info but as for computing power (Celeron 500) it should be sufficient. I don't know about MB compatibility with the FX5200.
The Radeon 7000 will most likely work fine.
I myself have an Celeron 500 with a GF2 MX400 PCI card and it would be around the same generation of cards. I also have a (now effed up) ATi TV Wonder VE TV card that used to work just fine for capturing VCR and recording TV to the HD.
If I get a new rig sometime in the future this one might be turned into a simple media station for MP3, DivX and capturing TV. DivX is very playable on it. I just need a Video card with TV out and I'd probably get a Radeon 7000/7200/7500 in PCI version if this turns into reality.
Too many other things to spend $$$ on.

Good luck!

Frustrateduser, thanks for the info. I have ordered a Radeon 7000 PCI 32MB DDR w/TV out and DVI. Cost including delivery is $40.00. Will let you know how it works with my HP 8555C which will be four years old in November. Only problem is that when I upgraded to Windows XP it slowed me down quite a bit. But I don't find that a problem. As long as I am able to project photos from my computer to the TV screen, thats all I need. Went to Europe in 2001 and took over 4000 digital pictures and I haven't really seen all of them in the form of a slide show presentation on my TV. Thanks again, Scapporelli
