TV Out on Radeon64, Radeon VE??

Does the 64mb Radeon with VIVO allow you to display to a TV and a monitor at the same time? If so does it only let me run a max of 800x600 on the monitor while the TV is on? Or are seperate refreshrates and res. adjustable for each output?

When will the radeon VE be available? It supposedly has dual outputs but I would prefer the speed of the 64mb radeon.

So many questions..

The 64mb VIVO allows you to display to a TV and a monitor but they can't at the same time!

VE would support TV with Mon./Mon with Mon at the same time. However, no further details
to know the supported resolution on TV.

The scheduled VE is on 1/31/2001 and it costs US$129 but no one know the real date..

Actually, I can display on both my TV and my monitor using my 64 ViVo. It does lock your resolution on the monitor to 800x600 or smaller though. Refresh rates might be adjustable if your monitor supports them, but I have a crappy monitor so I'm not absolutely sure (its at 60 no matter what). Probably a driver problem for me. The TV is locked at 60 hertz.

That is to say, the display on the monitor and the TV are exact copies of one another, and not for instance an extended workspace. (Wouldnt that be nice?)

No, I think it locks it at 60 Hz also. What drivers/OS are you using? There was a little trick you had to do in Win2k to fix the 60 Hz problem.

TV and monitor can both display at the same time. Both displays are forced to use the same refresh/resolution. However, refresh rate is locked at 60Hz for NTSC cards and 50Hz for PAL cards and resolution can not exceed 800x600 if a TV is attached. That can not be changed by any driver or wishful thinking. Well maybe it technically could be changed but it would DESTROY your TV - since they are not multiscan devices.

Technically, the TV *could* be attach and you can still run at higher resolutions/refresh rates. You just have to disable it in the display options tab. =)
