Tv-out for a notebook?

Ok so I bought the dell x300 and realized that it has no tv-out, not even in the external mediabay.
My question is if you can do anything about it?

Another question I have is if it is possible to connect the laptop to a homestereo somehow?

Thanks!

Well since your x300 does have vga out, you can buy an external scan converter that will take your VGA signal and output it to composite (RCA) or Svideo depending on the model you get. As far as hooking it up to your stereo, that's easy. All you have to do is go to radio shack and get a cable that will go from your headphone out jack into your rca inputs on your stereo. I am sure you can pick it up for less than $10. The scan converter will run you between 60 and $100, depending on it's features.

Can I expect the same quality as if it was with a "regular" tv-out directly from a regular graphicscard or is it inferior you think?

Depends on the quality of the external converter you use. It has been a while since I have used one. I'd imagine that it would be close but you really don't have a choice.
