It's wierd, but I can't watch any avi files on my TV. I just have the Windows Media border (or Divx alpha) with a black image in the center, but if I play an mpeg I can view it just fine.

Only thing I can think of is that the files itself wasn't encoded well so your media player is having problems. I used to have such a problem but I now use RealOne. That may or may not work for you but you could give it a try... that is switching to RealOne :)

You probably just need to download the proper codec to playback the file. Likely some divx variant.

I guess that I should have added that all avi files will play fine on my monitor, but when displayed on TV out the avi files won't work. But, mpeg will display on TV.

ahhh, that makes a difference, probably not codec related then. Maybe some overlay issue? I'm not real familiar with Nv cards TV-out implementation...are you cloning the Primary monitor to the Tv?

I had the same problem, I could see the divx player on the TV, even the PLAY writing inside the scren, but not the avi, I switched back to an older version of Nvidia's drivers and now it works, maybe its some kind of copyright thing?

P.S. the drivers I used where from my card manufacturer (Jaton) rather than the reference ones

Good luck
