TV-out display not working with CCC

Today I connected my TV using a tv-out cable, I have a 9800 SE softmoded to Pro using patched Catalyst drivers based on 4.12 from techpowerup.com, when I enabled the TV by extending the deskot it didn't work, when I switched displays (which turns off the monitor and runs the TV instead) the TV worked but with black and white colors and heavy flickering. I uninstalled the CCC, then I tried the CP, and the switch displays mode worked perfectly, but neither the extend nor the clone mode worked.
So I am wondering, is it a driver bug? Or is it because of the softmoded drivers? Do you think Omega drivers will solve this problem? Or should I revert back to older drivers?
Thanks

No reason to use CCC at this point. Will prolly only increase the chance of problems. Ditto modified driver packages. Although techpowerup should be fine, I would (and do) just manually replace the single file with the hacked from there before setup.

Anyhoo, enabling the TV under the Displays tab is seperate from fiddling with extend (vs clone). There is generally no need to do that because chances are you just want to watch video on the TV, yes yes? So simply enable the TV and then enable Theater Mode from the Overlay tab.
