TV-Out cards for laptops???

Hi,

Just wondering if there are any PCMCIA tv-out type cards for laptops that do not have a tv-out built into the notebook?

Anyone know of anything like this?

thanks 🙂

I'm not sure that I've ever seen a PCMCIA TV-out. I would think it would be hard to do as you would need the laptop's video subsystem to transfer data over the PCMCIA bus. Maybe I'm just not thinking about it the right way, but it seems strange. But there are external breakout boxes/cables that would use the external VGA port on your laptop and output it to a video signal your TV could use. Something like:

This?

or any of several others listed after that one. The linked one seems like it's small enough to carry with a notebook.

Well, I was wrong. There were, at some point, some PCMCIA TV-out cards on the market. Here's an informational link to one. Don't know anything about the vendor and the price seems ridiculous but maybe it'll help you locate something similar:

TViewGold

I don't really see it for sale anywhere. Nor is it listed on Focus Enhancements website product list. You might try ebay and see if anyone is selling this thing used? It seems to be a bit dated.
