TV Not working after move!

As the message suggests, I transported my TV about 100 miles today and somewhere between my house where it worked perfectly fine and now, it does not work. It comes on and there is sound, the picture has almost no color and has horizontal lines that travel through it and make almost no color show up. It's about a 4-5 year old GE 27" TV... not top of the line but has worked flawlessly nonetheless.... Any suggestions on what could be wrong!?!

THanks!

"Moved TV on the highway"

You dragged it down the highway? No wonder it doesn't work! 😉

No offense, but lets' look at some facts, hmm?

AGE: 5 years od
BRAND: GE
SIZE: 27"

SUBFACT
ODDS OF WORKING AFTER 5 YEARS: 1000-1

Dude, your TV is....a POS. Sorry...it's the truth. I'm sure you were careful to not bump/drop it, but hey, you got 5 years out of a TV that wouldn't normally last 3 years. Consider yourself lucky.

Now go purchase a real TV.

I have a 7-year old Sony Trinitron 32". It's a bigass TV.

I have the box and styrofoam it was packed in. I store the box flattened; sure it and the styro take up room but it's worth it.

I've moved the TV (in the box) BY MYSELF (it weighs 160 pounds and the box is massive) across 5 states and more than 1K miles, dragged it upstairs, etc. It still works perfectly.

You must treat electronics better than you treat your woman. Buy good stuff to begin with, treat it with kid gloves and you won't be disappointed.

Dude that sucks.. I have a 27" Emerson TV that i bought back in like 1994 that i moved with me 800 miles and it still works like a charm. Sorry bout your luck.

PS. I just put it into the backseat and seatbelted it in for the trip. 🙂

My roommate moved a 10+ year old TV 3000 miles and it's worked for the last 4 years no problem.

First of all, this is a second TV for a bedroom... I have a 27 inch sony flatscreen as a main TV. I just decided to bring this one along since I couldn't take the 20" in my home. In any event, it rode in a utility trailer, on top of a sofa with cushions all around it so it didn't take any shock from bumps. I carried it up here on my own and set it firmly on the ground, no one handled it but me and it wasn't dropped at all.

I do take care of my TVs, just had no intention of this one moving anywhere so we got rid of the box long ago. My sony is packaged up just like brand new each time for any move. It's moved distances before so I'm not sure what happened with it... its rather annoying though.

Thanks for the replys... if there are any other suggestions i'd be happy to hear them.

You mean the TV sat on the couch comfortable as hell, while you did all the work driving?

Let the TV bask in the glory of irony found before you call it back to work.
