I feel sorry for America, especially the children.

The TV production of the parade has been totally destroyed by the networks.

As a child you didn't want to leave the room because you didn't want to miss any of the parade.

Now all they see and/or hear is commercials at 4 minutes to 2 minutes of parade that is not focused on the parade at all.

You get blabering idiots pushing the network TV day and night shows, music companies pushing artists but you don't get to hear the ones on the floats anymore that are part of the parade.

Admittedly NBC is better than CBS's version because at least NBC has the skits in front of Macy's itself.

They've ruined the parade.

Shame shame shame. :(

Edit:
OK NBC version is no where near as bad as CBS but they can stand to cut back on some of the commercials.

CBS should not be braodcasting it. Just pure garbage.

Kids care about the parade? The only thing I remember about the parade was my grandparents & parents cared more about it than I did.

I never gave two shits about parades either. The only parades I cared about as a kid was the crappy ones in my small town where 5 horses and the new fire engine went by, followed by the homecoming queen of the high school who threw out candy. Once I didn't care about the candy anymore, I didn't care about the parade.

Parades are a huge waste of time and effort, I don't even really see the point.

How many homeless New Yorkers could have a Thanksgiving dinner if all the money being thrown about for this parade was donated to food kitchens? But that would defeat the spirit of Thanksgiving, wouldn't it?

Which network is carrying it doesn't make a lick of difference. I agree, I've never seen the allure of the parade.

Lots, but those are personal purchases. This is a governmental unit spending shit loads to send balloons down the street.

Macy's was taken over by the New York City/state government? I would have expected that to be big news.

Exactly. Where are the flashing titties? Beads? Candy? Public urination?

And I love how every commercial they say "Coming up next, High School Musical"... It's been an hour now and haven't seen them. Have my 6 year old nephew over waiting for them...

I finally just went to K-Mart snd stopped waiting for it.

I usually enjoy the parade--I took the family to see the Harrisburg, PA parade this past Saturday.

And I agree...bring back H.R. Pufnstuf

LOL CBS isn't much better. My kids (ages 6, 4, 21 months) sat through a commercial about Vagisil and how it can work wonders for that itch you just can't scratch.
