TV horizontal lines, do they matter?

Im looking into buying a 27" or 32" tv (flat or normal).

Ive found out the Horizontal resolution varies widely from 300(cheapo) ~ 700lines (Panasonic TAU)


Do they really make much difference?.

I will be using Component video input.

I think the NTSC standard is 525 lines. What is the price difference?

TV is laround 320x480

VHS is around 400 lines

SVHS is around 525

DVD is 720x480 if outputed progressively.

HDTV ranges from 720x480i (480i) to 720p and 1080i

Chose what sources you will use and buy accodingly
