TV heaven!

And it's done . . . for now. There's a PCIe 1x dual HD tuner coming out this summer, and I rather conveniently have an empty slot. 😀 The wife is gonna kill me . . . I think I started my thought process on this project about six months ago.

Here's the rundown -

Athlon 64 3200+ (Venice core) @ 2.0 GHz, w/ Zalman 9000 heatsink
Asus A8N-VM CSM motherboard
1GB Corsair Value PC3200
Silverstone LC-10 case w/ SST-360 Silent Power Supply
Gigabyte GeForce 6600 256MB PCIe 16x, passively cooled
Dual Hauppauge PVR-500 MCE dual-tuner capture cards
Windows Media Center 2005
NEC ND-2510A DVD-RW
20GB Seagate Barracuda ATA (OS drive)
Dual 300GB Seagate Barracuda SATA in RAID0 (TV storage)
80GB Western Digital Caviar ATA (Apps and DivX storage)
Harmony 680 Media Center Remote
BTC 9019URF Wireless Keyboard / Mouse combo

Why RAID 0? Seems like an accident waiting to happen and there is no need for the performance gain with TV recording.

I initially bought one 300 and one PVR-500 but that was inadequate. Rather than pay $300 plus for a single big drive, I got a duplicate PVR-500 and 300.

If MCE managed drive storage better I wouldn't need to stripe them, but it only saves recorded TV to a single location.
