TV for human beings | Ubuntu

Unity looks like it will make a gorgeous 10' UI, despite the fact that I don't like it for my desktop (yet. I need to give it more time perhaps).

Now we've got boxee, apple TV, google TV and a few others all competing. Maybe Ubuntu is planning on making hardware? (I doubt it though)
 
Is this stuff cool? I'm not into video, so I don't have a concept. In other words, would your neighbor get excited seeing a commercial for one of these units?
