Does anyone have a tv card working on a Chaintech vnf3-250 mob. I need to get one that will work as my wintv card has a conflict and won't work

What PCI slot do you have the card in? I've had a Hauppauge PVR250 plugged into my VNF3 since the day I recieved it, and I've never had a problem. If it is one of the PVR cards, you may want to try newer drivers and software from this website as well: shspvr.com

Thanks for the reply, my card is a wintvgo and when I try to install the drivers it says there is a memory conflict between the driver and the system board acpi bios but it won't let me change the memory setting on either the system board or the wintv although the manual says the memory setting can be changed for the wintv. I just needed to know if anyone had a card working on the vnf3-150 so I wouldn't get another card that would not work. I tried all the drivers on the Hauppauge web sit with no help. Thanks again.

Try playing with the card arrangement - which slot they're plugged in to. Don't know if it will help, but it's worth a shot. Mine, for instance, is in slot #3:

AGP
Empty
Sound card
WinTV PVR250
Empty
Empty

What kind of conflict, specifically? are you getting any error messages, or does it just not work? What video card are you using? I've used this one with an ATI 9800Pro and several different (older) Nvidia cards.

EDIT: also, have you tried playing any other video source? if a DVD or Divx video won't work, the problem is probably elsewhere - something to do with DirectX, or sound & video drivers, for example (which could affect both overlay, which is used for video, and sound).

When I install the wintv driver it gives me an error message that there is a memory conflict with the System Board Extension for ACPI BIOS and gives the memory address. If I could change the memory address for either the card or the System Board Extension for ACPI BIOS I could resolve the problem but it won't let me change the memory address for either one although the Manual for the tv card says the memory address can be changed. I guess the problem is with the vnf3-250 BIOS. I am running Win 95se. I allso reloaded windows with no help. Am I missing anything?

Sounds like your card doesn't like using the Windows ACPI HAL. The ACPI HAL dynamically assigns IRQ's to your hardware. It also tries to put as many hardware devices on as few IRQ's as possible. Some hardware doesn't support that and will either become unstable or not work altogether. What version of Windows are you using?

I havent flashed the bios, the board came with the next to the last bios on the Chaintech web site and the last one provides Sempron support. May try flashing it though just in case the bios has an wrror in it. I am running WIN98second edition.

Cannot assign a irq to a pci slot, only can reserve irq's, whatever that means. Chaintech's manual is very poor. In my 865 p4 board there is no memory conflict and it assigns irq5. Will n0t assign an irq or memory in the chain tech mob, just shows a memory conflict with the system board for acpi bios. The conflict is in the EA100000-EA100FFF range.
