Tv Card for Linux?

My friend is thinking of getting a new vid card for Linux.

Instead of getting a Radeon All in Wonder with non-official drivers from ATI (it's a shame to spend $150 on a vid card if a company won't be supporting you, I've been advising him to get a Geforce 2 MX with a TV card. Problem is, can any one reccommend a stand alone TV card that works well in Linux? I figure a card usually goes around $30 or so and coupling that with an MX will garner much better performance that with the Radeon (no offense against the volunteers working on ATI drivers, but it'd make me feel better if ATI was directly publishing stuff for Linux).

i have been told the pinnacle systems studio pctv works in linux. Try searching that on linux pages and stuff. I have not been able to try it out myself tho.
